Bill Heiser is a skilled, PMP-certified, Technology Project Manager. He has a number of years experience leading technical teams of System Administrators, Network Engineers, and Database Administrators. His technical background, prior to entering the management and project management arena, was primarily in the area of UNIX system administration and networking.
Currently Bill is a Project Manager in the Professional Services organization of a leading technology firm. There he's a member of the team responsible for scoping and estimating consulting engagements, and leading the delivery of consulting services to customers. In this role he works with customers and internal staff to prepare proposals for professional services opportunities, managing the planning process, and then functioning in the role of project manager during the delivery phase.
Before this, Bill led the IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery initiative for a leading institution of higher education. There he developed an initial disaster recovery capability, and laid the groundwork for an on-going IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Program. Bill worked with key stakeholders and individual contributors from across the enterprise to obtain buy-in and support, and to perform the actual planning activities. The work he did established an initial draft recovery process for essential business applications and IT infrastructure, and laid the foundation for further development.
Prior to this role, Bill was the project manager for an initiative which successfully developed and implemented a new ITIL-based Change Management process for the same IT organization.
Previously, his over 20 years experience in the IT field included several positions leading technical teams in corporate environments, and a background in systems administration, networking, and computer operations. Bill holds a BS in Computer Science and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
